Design Faculty at the KAMINOGE campus |
Designing generally involves the complete artifact that is to be produced, all information that is to be conveyed and all space as a living environment.
In other words, design is a creative process which is closely tied to our lives. |
The Design faculty at the Kaminoge campus of Tama Art University obtains good results from an integrated and unique curriculum which honors four stream education (visual communication, digital graphic, product design, environment design), but emphasizes comprehensive study of many skills in the fundamental courses regardless of specialization.
Through
collaboration with other
universities, instituitions and industries and the holding of
workshops we try to extend the scope of studies beyond the walls of our facilities. |
visual communication
The strong point of the visual communication design course curriculum is that it and the design course curriculum overlap each other and offer the students a wider range of choices. |
digital graphic
The digital graphic design course is shifting its focus from digitalization and static expression of paper to time- associated expression. |
product design
The goal of this course is to learn to design artifacts that exist for us, both as material things and as non-material things. |
environment design
In this course, students do experiment with the basic elements which make up space: form-building materials, light, colour, and non-material information. Studying these elements, they acquire the fundamental knowledge of the ideal relationship between humans and their environment. |
